- Kean University president's opening day address in 2004: "In 1976, a young woman left her native Taiwan for the United States, leaving behind the comforts and culture of her homeland. She settled in New Jersey and enrolled at Kean University soon afterward. Though she spoke almost little English when she first set foot on campus, she graduated in 1983 – with honors, and today, Lee Yang is the president and CEO of Yang Enterprises, a multimillion dollar high-tech company based just outside of Orlando. A generous benefactor of her alma mater, Lee Yang was awarded an honorary doctorate from Kean at our 2001 Commencement ceremonies, where she told the 2,500 graduates, “I can honestly say that without my degree from Kean, I would not have what I have today.”"
- Kean Magazine, "Kean Hall Dedication", 2003: "The Presidential Suite in the administrative wing of Kean Hall has been named for Li-Woan “Lee” Yang, a 1983 graduate of Kean University and a 2001 honorary degree recipient whose private pledge of $250,000 to the University paid for all of the furniture contained in the executive offices. A native of Taiwan, Yang is president and CEO of Yang Enterprises, Inc., an engineering consulting firm located in Florida."
